EDR PROGRAMThe EDR range is the segment dedicated to endurance at Van Rysel.
Make no mistake, “endurance” is not antithetical to “speed.” This is the challenge that our design team took on.
The EDR frame is the ideal answer to all competitors looking for a bike that is as comfortable in high mountains as it is on mixed terrain.
The perfect combination of stiffness, lightness and comfort will shatter your old records beyond measure.
EDR FRAME AND FORK With its 890 grams (gross in size M) the EDR frame and its fork are a cocktail of high modulus fibers offering excellent rigidity to the bike, perceptible in the slightest recovery.
Fork weight: 382g
The orientation of the fibers has been calculated to satisfy the most demanding climbers and runners on hilly routes and in high mountains.
Press-fit 86 bottom bracket and Di2 compatible frame.

R7170 DISC BRAKES (1)Shimano BR-R7170 calipers feature the latest Shimano technologies for powerful and smooth braking. This braking system allows cyclists to progress on their usual routes while benefiting from effective braking.
Braking is easier to control with a larger modulation range. Spacing the pads by an additional 10% prevents friction, makes it easier to remove the wheel and simplifies bleeding.
Front disc: 160mm
Rear disc: 140mm
R7170 DISC BRAKES (2)Technical characteristics:
– Brake caliper: BR-R7170 Flat Mount, 2 pistons: rigid, compact and aerodynamic
– Consistent braking performance in dry and wet conditions
– Compatible with handles: ST-R7120 and ST-R7170
– Pads included: L04C Resin with cooling fin
– Disc compatibility: 140mm to 160mm
– Recommended disk: SM-RT70
– Recommended brake oil: Shimano mineral oil

MAINTENANCE OF THE TRANSMISSION We draw your attention to the need for regular maintenance of your transmission, particularly if you drive in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads)
Regular maintenance helps your transmission last longer.
Regular checking of the chain is essential with this tool:
https://www.decathlon.fr/p/testeur-d-usure-chaine-velo/_/Rp-120530?mc=8351086
LIFESPAN OF A TRANSMISSIONWhen purchasing a bicycle, it is important to take into account the cost of maintaining it when choosing the transmission.
The values below are average values, they are given as an indication and will vary greatly depending on maintenance.
The average lifespan of a well-maintained chain is 5000 km
The average lifespan of a cassette is 10,000-12,0000 km
A poorly maintained chain can cause chain jumps which damage the frame.
BRAKE BREAK-IN AND MAINTENANCEA break-in period is necessary. All you need to do is do a series of 20 progressive braking sessions at low speed (20 km/h), a second series at 30 km/h. Both brakes must be broken in well.
Lapping allows for better adhesion between the pad and the disc.
BRAKE BREAK-IN AND MAINTENANCE (2)Hydraulic brakes work through a closed circuit between your brake lever and your caliper.
Sealing is ensured by a hose.
Over time, a normal loss of pressure in your hoses will appear, leading to a loss of braking efficiency. When your brake guard is too soft or you reach the end of your handlebars, you need to bleed your system. This operation requires suitable tools and know-how.
WARNING AND ADJUSTMENTCAUTION: never brake empty, if there is no wheel, you risk sticking the pads.
If your disc touches please proceed as follows to realign the wheel and caliper:
– Loosen the wheel axle
– Brake hard and tighten the wheel axle at the same time
– If the disc still touches, you will have to do the same operation by loosening the caliper
– If the problem persists, go to the store.
5-year warranty on the frame and 2 years on spare parts
