Free Mobile launches visual voicemail on more Android smartphones

Visual Voicemail (VVM) is a very useful device for listening to your voice messages, because it allows you to view your voicemail directly in the Phone app. It is therefore no longer necessary to call a dedicated number to listen to messages left on the line.
Already available for several years on iPhone, this function had not been made available by Free Mobile to all its Android smartphone users. Indeed, only Honor or Samsung smartphones running One UI 5.1 minimum could enjoy it since 2022.
The good news at the start of the fall month is that the deployment has finally been extended to an armada of Android devices. Free 1337 (official account of the Free network) actually shared on Twitter/X information this October 2, 2024.
Other brands can thus find the functionality directly in the Google Phone application. We also learn that you must at least be under version 139 of the latter to benefit from visual voicemail thanks to the mobile network, or even update 142 to use wifi.
If this condition is met, Visual Voicemail will appear in a dedicated section of the Phone app (see publication below). By clicking on it, it is possible to read a voice message, share it, delete it, call back or send a message to the correspondent and block/report the number.

Please note, the feature may require activation via the Free Mobile account to take effect. Therefore, the following steps should be followed:
- Log in via the login portal
- Press My mobile plan
- Select My options
- Activate Visual Voicemail And Manage Visual Voicemail activation from my phone
- Restart your phone
