Scott has combined all of his years of expertise in advanced traction, rocker technology and trail running to create the Scott Ultra Carbon RC: their most technologically advanced trail running product to date. With a Carbitex GearFlex plate that allows you to move efficiently for long hours combined with advanced rocker technology.
Engineered Mesh with TPU Upper
Around the upper of the Ultra Carbon RC is an engineered mesh upper, which will give you supreme breathability. When you begin to exercise, the feet will begin to heat up and sweat and the material will allow the hot air and moisture that begins to build up to escape. This will then be replaced by cooler air, and this process will keep you cool and ventilated during your run. Providing protection against bumps and shocks that can easily occur on uneven and unpredictable trails, the shoes have TPU overlays. A traditional lacing system will allow you to find a fit that is both comfortable and secure, leaving you in complete control. The performance tongue will sit comfortably on the ankle and allow you to move without restriction and an internal fit system makes the shoe feel like it was made for you. A running insole provides soft comfort directly in contact with the soles of the feet, and over time it will adapt specifically to your feet. The shank covering is a toe guard that helps protect you from loose rocks and uneven surfaces.
Kinetic Light Foam Midsole
Scott's lightest, most responsive foam yet. By improving the properties of their existing high rebound foam (Kinetic Foam), this new lightweight foam has even more bounce in an even lighter package. Soft, lightweight and responsive, yet with high levels of durability, the Ultra Carbon RC lets you run faster for longer. A Carbitex GearFlex carbon fiber plate offers unique benefits by being dynamically flexible, responding to you by increasing stiffness as you increase speed and maintaining flexibility as you walk. By dynamically increasing stiffness as it is flexed, it gives you more power and efficiency when you need it, and ease of movement when you don't. It's like having a track spike and a running shoe in one. Completing the midsole is an Evolved Rocker2 (ER2) which builds on 10 years of continuous R&D, creating Scott's most efficient running platform to date. It applies an advanced understanding of biomechanical principles to promote a more dynamic running position. This reduces the impacts of heel strikes and increases running efficiency.
Ultra-traction outsole
Scott's Ultra Traction outsole is designed specifically for ultra runs on fast trails. It uses a semi-radial design to give maximum efficiency in forward motion while maintaining multi-directional traction elements to keep you confident when the track starts to twist and turn. This newest traction solution is best suited for fast, smooth summer trails of all distances at all speeds. Forming a solid connection with the track, the rubber will anchor your feet in place, acting as a solid base to push off from. Designed to be extremely durable, the rubber is resistant to abrasion, preventing damage from occurring and affecting its functionality. Deep multi-directional lugs will dig into the ground that will anchor and hold your feet in place, giving you stability and control when taking off, braking and changing direction.
