Windows 11 24H2: Rufus 4.6 allows you to bypass new hardware restrictions
With the 24H2 update of Windows 11, Microsoft has significantly tightened the installation criteria. Minimum hardware requirements are now stricter, limiting access to the latest version of the operating system for some users.
Rufus to the rescue
Faced with these restrictions, the Rufus software, highly appreciated by users for its simplicity and flexibility, reacted quickly. Thanks to an update, it is now possible to bypass some of these limitations.
A new version for new possibilities
Rufus 4.6 beta includes a script that automates the deletion of a specific registry key, previously blocking the installation of Windows 11 24H2 on machines that do not meet official criteria. This modification allows you to create personalized installation USB keys, even if your computer does not have the minimum 4 GB of RAM required or a sufficiently recent processor.
Beware of old processors
Although Rufus allows you to bypass some restrictions, it is essential to check your processor compatibility. Processors that do not support POPCNT instructions (generally older than 2008) are not compatible with Windows 11 24H2, even when using Rufus.
To ensure your configuration is compatible, it is recommended to use Microsoft's PC Health Check tool.
PC Health Check (Windows 11 compatibility tool)
If you are looking to see if your computer can run the new Windows 11 operating system, download and install the PC Health Check Compatibility Scan Tool (Windows 11 Compatibility Tool).
