Citroën C4 2024: gentle modernization
On the occasion of the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Citroën is unveiling not only its new C5 Aircross concept, but also a significant update for its C4 and C4 X models planned for 2025.
These two models, although close, benefit from an aesthetic update which is especially noticeable at the front, more comfortable seats and a digital instrument cluster.
A modernized design
The redesigned front end adopts headlights, still divided, thinner and square. Gone is the iconic double chevron grille which gives way to the brand's new oval logo, symbol of the brand's renewal.
The bumper, more sculpted, abandons part of its plastic covering in favor of an aluminum-style protective plate, reinforcing the impression of robustness.
The profile of the cars remains faithful to the previous lines, with some subtle adjustments, including new designs for the alloy wheels.
At the rear, the C4 benefits from new LED lights installed under the integrated spoiler, making its design more refined. As for the C4 X, launched in 2022, few changes have been made, apart from the integration of the new Citroën logo, probably due to its more recent launch.
Comfort and technology on board
Citroën has not only revised the exterior aesthetics of its C4 and C4 X, the interior has also been slightly redesigned. Comfort was at the heart of concerns with the integration of new Advanced Comfort seats, featuring thicker foam padding.
In addition, drivers will now have access to a new digital instrument cluster in the form of a 7-inch screen, which joins the central 10-inch touchscreen dedicated to infotainment.
The French manufacturer offers the choice between gasoline, hybrid or 100% electric engines. The choice will then fall on the 1.2 liter 3-cylinder turbo, available in 100 hp or 136 hp, in the latter case, support of 29 hp is provided by an electric motor integrated into the six-speed automatic gearbox. .
If you want to take the electric plunge, two well-known options from the Stellantis group are available to you. On one side, the 136 hp engine powered by the 50 kWh battery (gross) or the 156 hp engine powered by the 54 kWh battery (gross).
Depending on the body type chosen, the WLTP range is then 355/360 km and 415/425 km.
