Citroën Ami restyled

The Citroën Ami is brought up to date with a more marked style.

The Citroën Ami, this electric micro-car dedicated to urban areas, has met with sympathy on the streets and success in dealerships, with more than 65,000 customers won over since 2020. Today, this adorable piece of plastic benefits from a mid-cycle update for 2025, with a new face and a nod to the 2 CV's iconic side vents.

Citroën did not come empty-handed to the 2024 Paris Motor Show, since next to the C5 Aircross concept and C4 and C4 X updateswe find the new Ami and an Ami Buggy concept with an extreme adventurer look.

The Friend is getting bigger

The production model benefits from a careful finish with completely redesigned front and rear faces, displaying a more square appearance, in line with Citroën's new style. The lighting units gain in size while the bumpers are beefier and the new Citroën logo takes place.

Little favorite for the headlights which, framed by black trims which strangely resemble eyelids, seem to bring the model to life.

Friend 2025 seems to be personified, like a character from an animated film, with these outlines of black lights.

The profile may seem familiar at first glance, but the devil is in the details. Look closer and you'll notice fake gills on the right front wing, a tribute to the 1948 Citroën 2 CV, or a way to get people talking when there's too little change, perhaps?

If you're wondering why we find these same dummy vents on the left rear wing, it's due to the very symmetrical design of the Ami which allows for big savings in design and production.

Finally, we find new hubcaps featuring a checkerboard pattern with rounded corners.

No announcement is made concerning mechanical modifications, the Friend must respect the legislation governing quadricycles. This means that we still find the same 8 hp electric motor and a 5.5 kWh battery.

The market launch of the Citroën Ami 2025 is planned for the first half of 2025, with prices to be announced closer to marketing.

A Friend for the Sand

A more adventurous version is close to the series Ami, a very attractive concept of Ami Buggy, ready for the sand, but rather that of beaches than deserts, given the undoubtedly very reduced autonomy of the machine.

No matter, we love it, with its midnight blue paint contrasted with a white roof, its black stickers and its yellow-tinted headlights. Better still, by abandoning conventional doors in favor of metal tubes, the Buggy Vision exudes open air and freedom, even more so with its canvas sunroof.

We all dream of it, unfortunately this buggy will never see the light of day in this form.

The concept is based on large, high sidewall tires surrounded by flared mudguards. The whole thing is completed by a roof-mounted LED bar and a fun rear spoiler.

Citroën designers got creative with specific kitesurf board holders on the tubular doors and a unique luggage compartment that can accommodate the kitesurf sail. Finally, the interior adopts new seat cushions with a quilted appearance, and offers an Infrared shade for the upholstery, originally introduced by the Oli concept.

If the concept will never see the light of day in this form, Citroën could well produce a new Buggy version of its Ami, the first iterations having met with great success.
