Sonos: Arc Ultra soundbar and Sub 4 subwoofer on the run
In recent months, Sonos has mainly been in the news following the fiasco generated by the failed overhaul of its software part. The manufacturer is therefore mainly focused on rectifying its mistake before unveiling and marketing new products. However, the arrival of the Arc Ultra soundbar and Sub 4 subwoofer seems close. As evidenced, after leaked visuals and potential prices last Septemberan article obviously published a little too early by the retailer B&H.
A complete leak for an imminent announcement?
According to the latter, the Sonos Arc Ultra would integrate fourteen drivers (seven tweeterssix midwoofers and a subwoofer), compared to eleven for the Arc. Result, the soundbar is stamped 9.1.4 and not 5.1.2. A major step forward on paper, but it remains to be seen what this will look like in practice.
In addition, the new Sound Motion technology should be on board. Result announced by Sonos: improved and more dynamic sound. The bar should also be equipped with microphones and Sonos Trueplay software to automatically adapt the EQ based on the acoustics of the room. The tool should this time be compatible with Android, in addition to iOS.
The article also mentions a more flexible and efficient dialogue improvement tool, improved touch controls and the addition of Bluetooth.
Next comes the Sonos Sub 4 subwoofer. Designed to be paired with a soundbar from the brand, this new model promises better performance and better wireless connectivity than its predecessor, from which it takes on the rest of the specific features. For more precise details, we will have to wait, although this article strongly suggests that the Sub 4 and Arc Ultra will be marketed at the same time.
A few more questions
It remains to be seen whether all this is real and, if so, when Sonos will make it official. The question of prices also remains unresolved. The latest rumors were $800 for the Sub 4 subwoofer and between $1,000 and $1,200 for the Arc Ultra soundbar. Answer probably soon.
