These Decathlon bikes endanger your safety, bring them back to the store
As shared Consumption reminderthe affected bikes are being recalled nationwide. These are high-end models sold online between August 14 and September 18, 2024 at a price of €7,500.
Which Decathlon bikes are recalled?
These bikes were designed in partnership with Swiss Side, a company specializing in aerodynamics to provide minimal resistance when moving forward.
The reason for this recall? A possible defect on the basebar, a carbon part of the cockpit. This problem can weaken the part, risking it breaking. Result, a possible fall and injuries for the bike rider.
The UCI XCR bikes sold by Decathlon and affected by this recall are:
- XCR UCI XS (reference 4696569)
- XCR UCI S (reference 4696570)
- XCR UCI M (reference 4698754)
- XCR UCI L (reference 4698755)
- XCR UCI XL (reference 4698757)
All of these models share the same model code 8772688, but have distinct barcodes.
If you own one of these bikes, it is strongly recommended that you discontinue use immediately for your safety. Contact Decathlon after-sales service or go to the store to obtain a refund or repair. This procedure is valid until April 10, 2025.
