Apple Intelligence promises a lot of great things for iPhones. The Apple firm, however, failed to make its AI tools available in time for the release of the iPhone 16, thus depriving them of one of their main selling points. The situation should still change at the end of the monthwith the arrival of the first features with iOS 18.1 (only in the United States).

We already know what Apple Intelligence functions will be available thanks to multiple betas releases in recent weeks. One of them takes the form of a summary of notifications, offering a quick and efficient summary of the latest alerts received on your iPhone.

9to5Mac also discovered that the summary of notifications offered a nice advantage for users paying for their purchases using the Maps application. Apple Intelligence Automatically calculates your recent spending total from all notifications in the stack”explains Ryan Christoffel for the American media.

He shares a recent example where he was able to experience this new thing: a trip with his wife to Disney World. After making several purchases at the amusement park with one of its bank cards, Apple Intelligence took into account the amounts mentioned in the Cards notification stack and added them up.

The editor of 9to5Mac points out that his iPhone displayed the following notification summarized by Apple Intelligence: “Multiple purchases at Walt Disney World and others, totaling $34.89”.

We learn in passing that these totals are also available for all other applications where currency amounts are mentioned in the notifications.

This is the opportunity for iPhone users to have a quick visual of the amount of all expenses made during the day, whether via their bank cards saved in Cards or other applications.
