AI, always more AI! WhileApple Intelligence barely released, a PC user wanted to make some similar tools accessible via a simple Windows application, and a very practical shortcut.
Developed by TheJayTea and available via GitHubthe little software takes the sweet name of Writing Tools. As its name suggests, it is there to help with document writing.
“It lets you correct grammar and more with just one hot key, system-wide”underlines its creator. The latter even goes so far as to define its grammar assistant as “the smartest in the world”.
Leveraging the model Gemini 1.5 Flashthe application allows you to open an action list by using the shortcut Ctrl + Space (by default) when text is selected. We thus find the following options: proofreading, rewriting, user-friendly, professional, concise, summary, key points and table.
A text field is also included to write your own query. The latter is also intended to be useful for rewriting text in another language. This will also be the only possibility for us French, given that the tool is limited to the language of Shakespeare, that is to say English.
Please note, the tool is announced as open source by its developer. We also learn that it does not collect any data, “except for sending encrypted text to Google for processing”reports Neowin.
