The Sonos Ace would be a huge failure, its price could fall to boost sales

It must be said that everything is not going well for Sonos: the manufacturer has postponed the release of several products to fix your broken appnotably. And according to Mark Gurman, the Sonos Ace only sold 20,000 units last month. The company still aimed for one million units sold.

Sales below expectations?

Faced with these disappointing sales, production of the Sonos Ace would increase from one million to 100,000 for this year. Several factors would have contributed to this failure. Among them, the steep price compared to its competitors like Sony or Bose and the app broken. Numerous bugs and malfunctions impacted the user experience.

To boost sales, the company is considering lowering the price of the Sonos Ace by $50. But that's not all. a new high-end headset is reportedly in the works, called “Roundhouse”at a rate of $450. However, some employees would express doubts about the relevance of launching a new model shortly after this failure.

Fortunately, Sonos has other assets, notably with the launch of its Arc Ultra soundbar and its Sub 4 wireless subwoofer. Mark Gurman explains that the company could release a decoder box, without further details.

Facing fierce competition from established brands like Bose, Sony, Sennheiser and Apple in the headphone market, Sonos is looking to strengthen its position. A big challenge awaits the manufacturer: combining sound quality, advanced features and a smooth user experience to convince demanding consumers in this competitive market.
