Almost all Free subscribers would be affected

More precisely, two databases would be, in the absence of a fixed price, looking for the highest bidder. The first concerns the personal information of more than 19 million Free and Free Mobile customer accounts. You would find name, first name, telephone number, address, date of birth or even email. The second database would be made up of the IBAN data of more than 5 million people, or all Freebox subscribers according to the hacker.

As SaxX notes, the data present in this leak would be fresh, since it is dated October 17, 2024. Speaking of freshness, the hacker's profile was only created yesterday. Despite the presence of screenshots to support its “prowess”, let's keep our guard up while waiting for a reaction from Free. The creation of false leaks is also on the rise. In September 2023, Free also denied the hacking of 14 million subscribers.

A scam to scam scammers?

On the other hand, if the leak is very real, remember that Free has almost 23 million fixed and mobile subscribers. Thus, more than 80% of the operator's customers would be affected. When in doubt, it is never a bad idea to change your password and always be more attentive to emails and other links received.

We will update this news when Free reacts.
