Lenovo Legion Go 2: first leaks reveal three new models
Launched by the Steam Deck in 2022, the first generation of portable consoles seems to be (almost) coming to an end. Asus, MSI and soon Zotac have all bet on this market by offering their own portable machine, with more or less success. Among the successful transformations, the Legion Go from Lenovo was able to do well by using the codes of the Nintendo Switch and its detachable controllers. But things could well change with her successor.
It's not every day that we discover leaks across the Eurasian Economic Union, but so be it: as spotted NotebookCheckits official website includes an interesting listing from the Taiwanese manufacturer. Three new Legion Go products are included, with different product code names: 8ARP1, 8ASP2 and 8AHP2. The first code, similar to that of the first Legion Go (8APU1), echoes other older rumors about the release of a “Lite” model of the Legion, which would put aside the detachable controllers – like the has done Nintendo in the past.
As for the other two codes, they would align with the naming of AMD APUs. Thus, 8ASP2 could refer to “Strix Point” with the Zen5 architecture, and 8AHP2 to Hawk Point, the previous generation of APUs with Zen4 cores. So many reports that align with another leak – namely the technical sheets of the future range of Z2 chips which would be available in 3 models with different power. 3 Ryzen Z2 chipsets for 3 different Legion Go? The coincidence seems too good.
