Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro: what we know about these next high-end smartphones!
Everything is starting to settle well for the Xiaomi 15 for a few weeks. The latest news is that the Chinese brand has announced the presentation date of its new generation of smartphone: December 29, 2024 at 1 p.m. (French time). This is the Chinese event, an international launch will therefore wait until the beginning of next year.
Performance
The revelations about this generation, starting with the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, still began thanks to various information leaks.
Not surprisingly at first, performance tests revealed the use of the chip Snapdragon 8 Elite. It must be said that Xiaomi is still one of the first brands to ship the latest high-end chip from Qualcomm. As a bonus, the models tested also mention a quantity of RAM of 16 GB of RAM.
For the most curious, know that the results are simply breathtaking compared to the Xiamoi 14, with a power of 3,043 in single-core and 9,385 in multi-core for the Snapdragon 8 Elite of the Xiaomi 15, compared to 2,106 and 6,638 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 of the Xiaomi 14.
Design
On the design side of the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, Xiaomi took the time to tease its next high-end smartphones on Weibo. We thus discover on the Chinese social network that these models are in the same line as the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro.
To make it quick, the flat edges and the square photo module are still there. The main change is the replacement of the LED flash with a laser sensor, thus suggesting better focus management. It is thus moved outside the island, more precisely to its right.
The Xiaomi 15 is shown in its purple color, compared to the green hue for the Pro variant.
The rest of the technical sheets
To end the suspense, a leak dating from mid-October 2024 shared the technical sheet of the Xiaomi 15. The smartphone would thus be equipped with a 6.3-inch AMOLED flat screen with a 1.5K definition and a 120 Hz refresh rate; a photo module with three 50 Mpx sensors, including a telephoto lens with x3.2 optical zoom; a 32 Mpx selfie camera; or a 5,500 mAh battery compatible with 90 W wired and 50 W wireless fast charging.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro would improve some aspects of its little brother, notably with a larger panel and battery (6.78 inches and 6,000 mAh) or even better wide-angle and telephoto sensors (x5 optical zoom).
