Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro: the price increase is confirmed
Next Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Xiaomi will announce two new smartphones: the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. Running under Qualcomm's brand new high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, this generation does not arrive with good news for the wallet.
The company's CEO, Lei Jun, actually took the time to confirm a price increase compared to the Xiaomi 14. On Weibothe manager justifies this decision by the increase in the cost of components, but also the investments made in research and development (R&D).
The question now is to what extent this will impact the selling price of this next generation of Xiaomi smartphones. According to the renowned leaker Digital Chat Station, the Xiamoi 15 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage would cost the modest sum of ¥4,599 (€594.20), or ¥600 more (+€77) than the Xiaomi 14.
As for the Xiaomi 15 Pro, it would sport a price of ¥5,499 (+¥500) for the 12/256 GB version, i.e. the price of Xiaomi 14 Pro with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage at launch. The next Pro model with this maximum configuration would go up to between ¥6,299 and 6,499 according to previous leaks.
This information therefore suggests an upwardly revised price internationally, and therefore in France. We should therefore have an increased price of around €50 to €100 compared to the Xiaomi 14. As a reminder, the standard 12/256 model started at €999. The Pro version unfortunately did not arrive in France, unlike the Ultra model.
