CORSAIR HS55 gaming headset review
Verdict
As a reminder, the CORSAIR HS55 is available in two versions: Stereo and Surround. The first costs 69.99 euros and the second costs 79.99 euros. Both versions have the same design and, as with the brand's recent products, it is successful. The marriage of white and notes of gray in different places brings a certain elegance. The gray circles accompanied by the silver version branding in the center of the earphones look great.
The first contact with this HS55 was pleasant. CORSAIR focuses on its lightness and that’s what comes out of the box. 273 grams on the scale! The headset is light and is very pleasant to wear even for long periods of play. The plastic used is of good quality, the headset is durable while retaining a certain flexibility. The only fault being this feeling of not having the ears well wrapped at the level of the lobes and the slightly too pronounced crushing of the memory foam.
In terms of performance, we are on a stereo headset. For those who want a precise environment in games and perceive the origin of sounds clearly, go your way. However, the use of an audio DAC (if the user already has one, otherwise invest in headphones with surround sound) will improve this small weakness. The microphone volume, which is a little weak, can be amplified using Windows settings, but at the expense of the reproduced quality.
For 69.99 euros, the user will find themselves with a headset with a successful design, elegant aesthetics, quality materials and comfortable use. These are solid arguments which will make you forget the small faults and which will make this HS55 an ideal headset for undemanding gamers and music lovers. The HS55 thus wins our Top Quality/Price badge.
