Neuralink chip could fight back pain according to Elon Musk

During the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), the billionaire shared his ambition to “prioritize the manufacture of an implant capable of eliminating back and neck pain”. Elon Musk says Neuralink implant could treat any brain problem “from the moment we approach the brain like a computer”.

This announcement comes as the company is already working on solutions for quadriplegia, allowing a patient to play Counter-Strike 2and poor vision. Asked about advances regarding Alzheimer's disease, Elon Musk specifies that he is “early stage” of development.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), back pain represents “the leading cause of disability” with 619 million cases of low back pain worldwide. The WHO emphasizes that “low back pain can restrict mobility and have consequences on work, schooling and participation in community life.
