This future series would be on the verge of finding its main actress. According to our colleagues at Deadlineit will be played between two actresses: Sophie Turner and Lucy Boynton.

Of Game of Thrones has tomb Raider ?

We no longer present Sophie Turner, famous Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones for eight seasons and played Jean Gray in the latest films X-Men. Recently, the actress also starred in the miniseries The Staircase alongside Colin Firth and Toni Collette.

Less known to the general public, Lucy Boynton has nothing to be ashamed of her career. Spectators were able to see her in the series Why not Evans?, Ipcress Files And The Politicianas well as in the films Crime on the Orient Express And Bohemian Rhapsody.

The project is obviously surrounded by a lot of mystery, but fans can rest assured since the series seems to be in good hands. It is created, produced and written by the talented Phoebe Waller-Bridge, multi-awarded for the excellent series Fleabag and seen recently in Indiana Jones 5.

The actress and screenwriter declared when the project was announced: “It’s as if the teenager I was was saying to me: 'Do what's right for her, what's right for Lara!' This is the opportunity to have a female action character. What if I could take the reins of an action franchise with everything I've learned, with a character I love, and bring back some of that 1990s vibe?”

Alongside this series, Amazon is working with studio MGM to build a shared Tomb Raider universe, with a new film also in the works. While no release date has yet been announced for either the film or the series, fans may be delighted to learn that Lara Croft has not said her last word.

Created in 1996, Tomb Raider is one of the most popular video game franchises, with more than 95 million copies sold. It was adapted for cinema in 2001 and 2003 with Angelina Jolie in the main role, before experiencing a reboot in 2018 as Alicia Vikander. The latter film had mixed success with only $275 million grossed worldwide.
