The OnePlus 13 is here: between power and endurance, this smartphone promises heavy duty
The announcements follow one another and are similar, at least in one respect: smartphone manufacturers take turns unveiling their premium smartphones in China. Oppo got the ball rolling with its Find X8 Pro below MediaTek Dimensity 9400followed closely by Xiaomi and its 15/15 Pro equipped with Snapdragon 8 EliteAnd Honor and its Magic 7 Pro equipped with the same chipset. OnePlus today completes this wave of ultra high-end terminals and formalizes a model that is at least awaited, stamped 13. Unsurprisingly given the leaks and others teasers In recent weeks, the smartphone is also equipped with the new Qualcomm chip.
Like its competitors, the newcomer multiplies the technical arguments designed to seduce. To his credit, a large 6.82 inch Oled screenLTPO, displaying 3168 × 1440 pixels and promising a peak brightness of 4500 cd/m². This flat panel is included in a massive case, since it measures 162.9 x 76.5 x 8.5 mm for 213 grams, but not in view of the capacity of its battery, which reaches a whopping 6000 mAh . Like Xiaomi and the 6100 mAh battery included in its 15 Pro model, OnePlus opts for a significantly increased capacity, if we compare it to 2024 standards. Excellent news which, if the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite is not very energy hungry , could significantly increase the endurance of the next smartphones on the market.
Full of premium features
This Qualcomm chip is unsurprisingly accompanied by 12 to 24 GB of RAM, while equally generous storage (256 GB to 1 TB of UFS 4.0) is planned, as well as compatibility with 5G and wifi 7. Let's even mention other notable features: fast charging at 100 W (50 W wireless), an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, certification IP68/69 dedicated to its resistance to water and dust, and of course a triple photo module with three sensors of 50 megapixels each (with a wide-angle, an ultra-wide-angle and a 3x telephoto lens) supported by the Hasselblad stamp. Let us point out that the software aspect of the OnePlus 13 is already known to us: the smartphone runs under ColorOS 15, interface based on Android 15and gives pride of place to artificial intelligence. In addition to advanced photo editing and message writing assistance functions, we note the arrival of a call summary function which is reminiscent of the options introduced by Samsung or Google.
The OnePlus 13 is currently only official in China, where it will be marketed from November 1. There is a minimum price – and a promotional one! – 4,499 yuan, or approximately €580 excluding taxes and miscellaneous costs for its 12/256 GB version. The availability of the smartphone outside the Chinese market, if there is little doubt, must of course be specified, as well as the price launch date of the device and the number of years of updates it will receive. One thing is certain: the start of 2025 will see tough competition in the world of high-end smartphones.
