Eufy's latest robot vacuum requires minimal maintenance and space
Eufy continues to expand its range of robot vacuum cleaners and its latest model does not seem to lack any advantages. In addition to being rather affordable, the Omni C20, its nickname, promises to keep floors clean in exchange for minimal maintenance thanks to a well-equipped, but still fairly compact, station. The robot is also quite compact itself, or at least thin, and should therefore be able to pass under furniture more easily.
A station that facilitates robot maintenance without taking up too much space
We have already been able to appreciate the compactness of the X10 Pro Omni station from the same manufacturer recently. With 33 cm wide and only 28.9 cm deep and 46 cm high, that of the Omni C20 is even a little more compact, which does not prevent it from offering complete maintenance of the robot: a bag of 3.1 liters is provided to empty its dust bin, while clean water and dirty water tanks allow it to be loaded with water to wash the floor and then wash its mops when finished.
No hot water, however, or hot air to speed up drying, but Eufy highlights the low energy consumption of its station. You may have to wash the mops a little more often than with a station that heats the water, but you should still be able to rest easy for a good week with this Omni C20.
A robot designed to go under furniture
On the robot side, Eufy does not offer the best equipment either. The manufacturer has notably omitted a camera for obstacle detection. If it is not integrated on the top, the laser rangefinder is however present for mapping, but on the front. This means that the robot must turn on itself to scan a room, but also that it is lower than most robots offering this equipment; it measures only 8.5 cm high. The Omni C20 is also one of the narrowest robots on the market with its diameter of 32.8 cm, even if it is obviously far from the 24.8 cm of the SwitchBot K10+.
It is also capable of detecting carpets to increase its suction power by passing over them – Eufy announces up to 7000 Pa -, and it can also lift the two small mops intended for washing hard floors by 10 mm. It is also equipped with two brushes to guide dirt towards its suction mouth, and also promises to detangle hair that wraps around the main brush using an integrated comb. The Omni C20 can finally count on a battery which, despite its admittedly modest capacity of 3200 mAh, should still allow it to clean up to 166 m2 according to Eufy.
Eufy's latest robot is therefore a little less well equipped than the X10 Pro Omni, but also a little more affordable since it was launched at the recommended retail price of €599. It is also possible to benefit from a discount of €130 for its launch, which lowers its price to “only” €469. This obviously remains a significant investment, but most robots delivered with a comparable station are sold for more than €800, although there are also some even more affordable models like the Robot Vacuum X20+ from Xiaomi.
