Apple Vision Pro: for a cheaper model, you will have to wait (a very) long time
In June 2023, Apple announced the Apple Vision Pro, a mixed reality headset capable of offering an experience between virtual reality and augmented reality. Marketed from the beginning of 2024 in the USA then in July in France, the Apple Vision Pro has not however met with a large audience. And for good reason: its price turned out to be particularly prohibitive (around €4,000).
Obviously, with such a price, new less expensive versions are impatiently awaited by potential enthusiasts, especially since the competition's prices have nothing to do with it: from Meta for example, a new Meta Quest 3S headset It was recently made available from €329, more than 10 times cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro.
In a recent interview, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the Apple Vision Pro is an early adopter product for users who want to use tomorrow's technology today. Thus, other products of this type are indeed planned by the Apple firm.
Two new Apple Vision Pro models planned by Apple
We know that a new Apple Vision Pro equipped with an M5 chip is planned for next year, according to analyst Ming-Ch Kuo, known for his serious leaks on the American company. But that's not all: in recent months, rumors concerning a cheaper model have also been talked about.
According to these rumors, this new, cheaper model was planned for marketing in 2025 or 2026. However, today, this same analyst reveals on X (ex-Twitter) that this new version of the Apple Vision Pro has been postponed internally. to 2027, or even later.
In other words, if price is the main obstacle to purchasing an Apple Vision Pro, you will have to wait a few more years before being able to take advantage of the technology at a more affordable price.
