Samsung could prepare a Galaxy Z Flip SE soon
Although foldable smartphones have enjoyed great success in recent years, they nevertheless remain shunned by a segment of potential consumers who regret a price that is a little too high. It is for this reason in particular that Motorola or Nubia were able to offer cheaper, mid-range models to meet this expectation. Samsung was expected to offer a cheaper model of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, but so far, all of the South Korean company's foldable models remain unavailable for less than €1,000.
A Z Flip SE to boost sales of foldable models
However, this could change very soon. Samsung has in fact gotten into the habit of offering FE models for some of its flagships: this is the case for the Galaxy S, which has been entitled to their FE model for several years. Recently, the firm was also able to launch a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold FE. And if new rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy Z Flip would be the next to go, with a more affordable FE model planned for next year.
The information is not new: we already knew thata cheaper Z Flip was planned by Samsung. But today, the Korean blogger eyes1122 reports that Samsung plans to launch this new model, branded FE, in 2025. However, it did not specify a release range, but announced that a simultaneous global release was to be expected, in parallel with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. In other words, for the middle of the year (July/August 2025).
This cheaper model should allow Samsung to boost the sale of its foldable models, which have suffered a small drop in interest for some time, and particularly since this year: in fact, according to ZDNET Koreasales of the Z Flip 6 fell to 7/8 million copies sold.
