Vizio MicMe: a soundbar delivered with two wireless microphones for your karaoke evenings
Still little known in Europe, the American brand Vizio has a knack for developing soundbars combining innovative features and modern sound technologies.
Its last notable iteration was the Vizio Elevate, a 9.1 soundbar equipped with motorized speakers that automatically tilt toward the ceiling when playing Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks. A clever function for switching from music listening to multi-channel home cinema sound in the blink of an eye.
In order to stay in the theme of originality, the manufacturer is now back with a soundbar that also serves as a karaoke machine.
MicMe: two wireless microphones included and more than 80,000 songs available
Called MicMe, this new soundbar allows the user to sing along to their favorite music tracks using two wireless microphones that are automatically activated when karaoke mode is selected. Then simply remove them from their charging base and open the MicMe Karaoke app (iOS & Android) to access more than 80,000 songs.
Versatile, this system also allows you to sing along to any content playing on a smart TV or broadcast via Bluetooth from a smartphone. In addition, the MicMe microphones are distinguished by their baton shape with a satin finish and a comfortable battery life of 8 hours on a single charge via the included docking station.
A 2.1 soundbar compatible with Dolby Atmos & DTS:X
The Vizio MicMe obviously serves as a traditional soundbar to enjoy its soundtracks or listen to music. If it is equipped with an unpretentious stereo sound architecture, it still supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content. A correct virtualization of three-dimensional effects would therefore be part of the game. In addition, a small wireless subwoofer is also included to enhance immersion.
The MicMe of course works in conjunction with the Vizio application. This app allows us to improve the tone of our voice, add echo and personalize the color of the microphone LEDs according to our preferences. In terms of connectivity, the Vizio MicMe includes an HDMI eARC port. Simple and effective.
If the combination of the home cinema experience and user-friendly functions seems successful, we deeply regret that the microphones cannot also be used as rear speakers dedicated to surround effects. Unless you are a fan of karaoke, this soundbar seems to have few advantages compared to other models in its price range.
The Vizio MicMe soundbar will be available in the United States at the end of November for a reasonable price of $349.99. However, no information on its availability in Europe is currently available.
