Xiaomi increases production of its SU7

The increase is all the more impressive given that the Beijing factory, the first phase of which was designed to produce 12,500 vehicles per month, was already operating at 160% of its capacity in November. The company was therefore able to deliver more than 20,000 units. Production had doubled since June after a period of maintenance and adjustment of product lines in July.

Xiaomi could therefore reach its target of 100,000 cumulative deliveries before the end of November. The company now has an ambitious target of 120,000 vehicles for the whole of 2024. It should be noted, however, that delivery times are long, despite these efforts. We are talking about a waiting time of 21 weeks, minimum. Orders are still flowing in with 4,000 purchases per week since August.

Let us recall that the Xiaomi has launched pre-orders for its SU7 Ultrasports version of the electric vehicle which won on the Nürburgring circuit in Germany. Marketing is planned for March 2025 when 3,680 people reserved their copy in the first ten minutes of being put online. Xiaomi also plans three new models for the coming months.

A second phase to increase production

The first phase of the factory, designed for an annual production of 150,000 vehicles, is reaching its limits. Xiaomi is therefore accelerating the construction of its second phase with commissioning by July and August 2025, at the latest. THE National Business Daily explains that the teams are working double quota on the site.
