Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP Specter x360 OLED 16-aa0008nf
With its thin and light Blue Space aluminum design that can be opened 360° to transform into a tablet, this 2-in-1 multimedia laptop has an original elegant look.
The screen adopts multi-touch touch technology: by placing the stylus provided on it (or at least a finger) you can control the hybrid laptop PC.
To protect it, it benefits from a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass which induces a shiny coating just like its tactile appearance. Thus the colors are revived but there is sensitivity to reflections in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors).
The screen adopts 2.8K High Definition (higher than Full HD) as well as High Fidelity thanks to its DCI-P3 OLED characteristics. These also involve very deep blacks, significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles as well as low latency. This improves general fluidity as does the refresh rate of 120Hz higher than the standard 60Hz.
Due to its 16:10 format, which is higher than the classic 16:9 format, the screen also displays more elements.
As a fingerprint reader is integrated as is a webcam whose infrared functionality allows facial recognition, we obtain here a 2-factor biometric authentication solution.
Good point for those most concerned about their privacy: they can close the webcam whenever they are not using it.
The chiclet keyboard obviously has a backlighting solution that is practical to activate whenever you need to better distinguish the keys.
However, we notice the absence of a numeric keypad on the right of the keyboard although this functionality is standard from 15 inches to facilitate the entry of numbers.
The connectivity integrated into this 2-in-1 Ultrabook will delight demanding users because it consists of 2 USB 4 Type-C Thunderbolt 4, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 be wireless modules (more recent and efficient than Wi-Fi 6 ax) to communicate and connect remotely, a useful HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or a monitor for example, an audio port or even 1 USB 3.2 (USB 2.0/3.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect a USB 3.0 device.
Performance, autonomy of the HP Specter x360 OLED 16-aa0008nf
The HP Specter x360 OLED 16-aa0008nf may appeal to those looking for a thin and light versatile laptop PC convertible into a high-performance multimedia-oriented tablet.
Precisely for storing multiple files including personal creations but also installing software, this 2-in-1 laptop offers a large capacity of 2000 GB, double what is usually offered!
The SSD offers, remember, silent operation, a robust design, low energy consumption and even high speed.
As a result, the SSD clearly improves responsiveness and fluidity, which translates in particular on a daily basis into rapid starts/stops as well as the launches of applications, processing or even arrival on online game cards.
Be careful, however: no dedicated graphics card is on board. This hybrid laptop PC therefore does not target demanding gamers.
On the other hand, thanks to the benefits of the Intel Arc solution integrated into the processor – superior to that of the classic Iris Xe – we can watch HD photos and videos with peace of mind.
But also play light to modest games with some concessions.
We are clearly thinking of a reduction in screen definition since playing in 2.8K requires more graphics calculations than in Full HD, which results in a lower number of fps.
The Intel Arc takes place in the Core Ultra 7 155H, processor Meteor Lake with 16 hybrid cores and AI services supported here by a large amount of 32 GB RAM – twice the average.
We therefore obtain good overall power which will delight demanding users, in particular those who often carry out work requiring CPU and RAM resources using multi-core (and AI), such as video editing or photo editing.
In this type of area, processing is carried out more quickly than with a classic Quad/Hexa Core and 16/24 GB DDR4/5 for example.
Finally, transporting this 2-in-1 Ultrabook is made easier by its controlled weight and its thinness while its autonomy is around 6 hours on battery in light use. Something to interest some wishing to equip themselves with a student laptop AI-oriented multimedia convertible into a tablet offering large storage capacity that does not need high battery life.
Expect this laptop to heat up and make itself heard under heavy load (e.g. processing, gaming).
A ventilated support can be associated with it to limit its temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
