Zero Motorcycles is banking on the XE and XB, accessible electric motorcycles to conquer a wider audience
Zero Motorcycle is probably the best-known electric motorcycle manufacturer on the market. A niche market, which still allowed the manufacturer to SR to sell not only 390 units in 2023, but above all to recently raise $120 million to boost its international ambitions. That's not all. In order to aim broader, Zero has just unveiled a range of ultra-light and accessible motocross bikes: the X range.
Access for all: Zero targets those under €10,000
Selling large motorcycles is not enough, the fault of an excessively high budget which places them against renowned thermal models. The manufacturer Zero understands this well and has therefore chosen to attack the market from below, by offering a new range of electric motocross bikes, some of which are accessible from 14 years old with an AM license.

Not sure if the press release is relevant when comparing motocross and mountain biking. This is the angle chosen by the manufacturer to communicate about these small motocross bikes named XE and XB. Lightweight, maneuverable, affordable machines capable of moving in steep and muddy terrain.
They have removable batteries, allowing you to charge at home. On the pitch, the traction control can be deactivated, which allows you to really play on slippery terrain. And all in silence.
Zero XE: a light enduro
The Zero XE is presented as the brand's lightest model, weighing 101 kilos. It has 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels.
With its 4.3 kWh battery, the XE promises a range of 100 km at steady speed and a top speed of 85 km/h. In France, the Zero XE will be offered at a price of €6,455 from summer 2025.
Zero XB: all-terrain for teenagers looking for thrills
Designed for drivers aged 14 and over, the Zero XB weighs 63 kg. Zero may compare the machine to a mountain bike, but it remains 3 times the average weight of the cycle.
The 19-inch wheels make it a little toy, literally. The announced range is 75 km. Full recharge takes place in three hours. The toy for older children will cost €4,440, which remains more reasonable than a Citroën Ami For example.
For the most enthusiastic, Reservations are already possible on the manufacturer's website.
