Xiaomi SU7: these satellite images show great ambitions for the electric car
Images captured by the Jilin-1 satellites show the rapid expansion of Phase II of the Xiaomi automobile factory, in response to the unexpected success of its SU7, including the Ultra version, very efficient and sporty, launched pre-orders. The Chinese company exceeded 200,000 monthly deliveries last October with a utilization rate of 160% of its facilities.
Phase II of the Xiaomi factory is progressing quickly
Faced with this success, Xiaomi is therefore moving on to the second. Construction of Phase II is intensifying. The body shop has reached a crucial milestone by completing its roof according to satellite images. The double-shift construction system is bearing fruit: the factory could be operational between July and August 2025 for a total annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles as three new vehicles are prepared.
The location of this new factory is strategic because it is adjacent to Phase 1 and separated by a road to optimize logistics. Xiaomi is also improving the infrastructure between the two sites by widening the connection path. The aim is to facilitate the flow of materials and vehicles.
Xiaomi has big ambitions, like BYDin the world of the electric automobile industry. The SU7 was a resounding success and positions the company as a serious competitor while Europe seems to be lagging behind. Phase II will make it possible to meet demand with a massive increase in production capacity to maintain growth dynamics in the coming years.
