The best devices and accessories for a successful homemade pizza
In addition to being good, making pizza at home is the guarantee of having a good time with friends or family. Want to take the plunge to change the traditional barbecue? Here is a selection of the best devices and accessories to have to get started.
The pizza oven is obviously the central element for making homemade pizzas. There are now many solutions, whether electric, wood or gas. The first is practical, but often less efficient, the second is efficient, but less practical while the last offers an ideal in-between. This is the reason why Tefal's Pizza Pronto is the ideal everyday pizza oven.
It is capable of reaching 400°C in 15 minutes, then cooking pizzas in 90 seconds! Family or friends will not have to wait between two pizzas. The Pizza Pronto also offers a particularly practical innovation, even more so if you don't have a helping hand: the cordierite cooking tray (one of the best materials for a pizza oven) rotates 360 ° using a manual dial located on the side of the device. This makes it very easy to turn your pizza to obtain even cooking.
All-in-one, the oven is compact, delivered with its shovel, and offers access to a catalog of 100 recipes. The Pizza Pronto is suitable for both beginners and more experienced pizza makers without being experts. It is therefore a solution that you can keep at home for a long time, without it taking up too much space.
To take advantage of it, all you will need is a gas bottle and its accessories (hoses, regulator). We recommend a propane bottle which is more resistant to low temperatures and can therefore be kept outside all year round. You will have pizzas to warm you up in winter and for aperitifs in summer.
Other useful accessories
Now that you have your oven, the pizza peel and the recipes, there are no longer any absolutely essential accessories for making your pizzas at home. However, there are some practical and inexpensive ones that will make the experience more pleasant.
An infrared thermometer
As we said above, the Pizza Pronto is capable of reaching 400°C, but how do you know that the temperature has been reached? An infrared thermometer will make this easy to find out. This is particularly important with pizzas, the cooking of which depends very precisely on the temperature of the oven and the ability of the stone to capture the heat without burning the bottom of the pizza. This is necessary for pizzas, and very useful for barbecues too.
The dough cutter
This may seem anecdotal, but it is less so than you might think. If you make your pizza dough yourself, a dough cutter can be particularly practical for handling it and cutting dough pieces of equivalent size. This will allow you to easily adjust the quantities to the capacity of the oven… and will avoid any jealousy between brothers and sisters.
A brush for cleaning stone
You may not know this, but it is strongly recommended not to wash the stone of a pizza oven with water. The materials used are often porous, and if they are damp they risk cracking the next time they are used. The best way to maintain it is therefore simply to brush it to remove anything that has fallen from the pizza or leftover flour. We therefore advise you to invest in a brush adapted to your oven.
