An audiophile headset that will need an amp to make the most of its potential because it requires a lot of power (y). It costs €239 reconditioned on the official Hifiman Store website but there are around €30 in shipping costs to add.
I was able to get a reconditioned pair for €249 from son-vidéo 2 weeks ago but since then I haven't seen a reconditioned pair in stock again (€309 new price from them).
The European Hifiman warehouse is indeed located in Poland.
HiFiMAN Edition XS: Planar Magnetic transducers
The HiFiMAN Edition XS hi-fi headphones adopt new generation Planar Magnetic transducers. The latter benefit from a new magnetic structure, called Stealth Magnet Technology. The specific shape of the magnets ensures that magnetic disturbances are reduced, for better control of the membrane and limiting interference and distortion. The result is a purer and more precise sound. The Neo supernano Diaphragm (NsD) membrane which makes up these transducers is also optimized, with a thickness reduced by 75% compared to older generations. Now lighter, it offers more linear and more detailed reproduction from 8 Hz to 50 Hz.
