Tesla offers one year of Supercharging for the purchase of its Model Y electric SUV
Tesla sales are down on the European continent compared to the year 2023, which was crowned with success. However, this is good since the brand is trying to strengthen the appeal of its electric cars through various price adjustments and promotional offers.
Tesla is now using a frequently used technique, that of offering one year of charging on its famous Superchargers to customers. Thus, for those who take delivery of a Model Y before December 31, 2024, Tesla offers one year of unlimited charging on its network of fast terminals.
The possible savings will depend on the use made of the vehicle. Recharging mainly at home and only using fast terminals when going on vacation, as the majority of electric car drivers rightly do, will only save a few hundred euros, at most. On the other hand, for those who have to travel long distances by car, for professional use for example, this offer may already prove more interesting. By traveling 20,000 km per year and recharging only with Superchargers, it would, for example, be possible to save around €1,500.
Above all, this offer is compatible with other discounts already offered by Tesla and in particular on its vehicles in stock. While the Model Y range starts at €40,990 bonus deducted in the Propulsion version, its entry ticket is lowered by €4,000 on examples already configured. It is therefore possible to obtain a Model Y Propulsion available immediately for €36,990 and with one year of free Supercharging. The High Autonomy Propulsion version, with a range of 600 km, only costs €2,000 more. Not bad !
What alternatives to the Tesla Model Y?
Although Model Y prices were previously much more competitive than those of its competitors, certain models have nevertheless lowered their prices and the massive arrival of Chinese manufacturers in Europe now offers cheap alternatives. This is for example the case of the Leapmotor C10, which starts at €34,900 via an introductory offer, all without even having access to the ecological bonus, the amount of which should increase from €4,000 to €3,000. in 2025. The only manufacturer to match this price with its rival electric car, the Tesla Model Y, is paradoxically the one that believes in it the least, namely Toyota. The Japanese brand is currently offering its bZ4X from €34,900, via a €5,000 discount valid until January 2, 2025, still without the help of the ecological bonus.
Among European manufacturers, you have to go down to the lower segment to find models with a deducted bonus price comparable to that of the Tesla Model Y, such as the Volkswagen ID.4 (from €41,500) and Peugeot e-3008 (from €41,500). €40,990), as well as the less expensive Renault Scenic E-Tech (from €35,990).
