What does it mean to be contemporary today?
You have two hours.
At Squier, the answer is probably: It's doing things that aren't too vintage, things that Leo, in the 50s, wouldn't have done. So, of course, we're not going to put a GPS in a guitar, nor run it with recyclable coffee pods. But when the Jaguar came out, Leo might have roasted his coffee (there was no Nespresso at the time, what else?), but not the necks of his guitars. And when the Jazzmaster or Jazz Bass came out, Leo was active, but not his microphones (today it's the other way around, unless he's rolling over in his grave listening to metal and drinking too much Ristretto tight, who knows).
In short, if you like contemporary, of course, it will cost more than a Nespresso machine (although with 3 coffees per day, you will pay off a Squier more quickly), but George Clooney will not come and charge you for it.
