From Queen in the North to Grave Robber
This project is created, produced and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, multi-award winning series Fleabag and seen in another adventure franchise, Indiana Jones.
We don't yet know the details of its plot, but the series tomb Raider was described as “epic” and “globe-trotting” by Jennifer Salke, president of Amazon MGM Studios.
Sophie Turner, who the general public also knows for playing the role of Jean Gray in the last films of the saga X-Menwas one of the two actresses in the running to play Lara Croft. However, it seems that facing her, Lucy Boynton (Crime on the Orient Express, Bohemian Rhapsody) did not make the weight.
Turner is currently starring in the British miniseries Joanin which she plays a jewel thief based on the true story of Joan Hannington. She will also soon be in the casting of another series for the Amazon streaming service, a thriller entitled Haven.
As a reminder, Lara Croft, cult character from the video game franchise tomb Raider created in 1996, was previously seen in the cinema in the guise of Angelina Jolie then Alicia Vikander. She was also recently voiced by Hayley Atwell in the animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft on Netflix.
