Doctor Who (Disney+): a Jurassic teaser for the Christmas special episode

There's nothing better to end the year than enjoying a Christmas episode of Doctor Who ! Ncuti Gatwa will indeed be back on the streaming platform Disney+ on December 25 for a new adventure of the Fifteenth Doctor in the company of a new friend called Joy and played by the star of The Bridgerton ChroniclesNicola Coughlan.

The telethon Children in Need broadcast this weekend was an opportunity for the channel to unveil a new extract from “Joy to the World”, this special Christmas episode written by Steven Moffat, former showrunner of Doctor Who.

This preview shows Joy and the Doctor in a tropical environment, as the latter scans a briefcase with his sonic screwdriver and begins a conversation with a Silurian alien avatar.

Joy also recognizes this extraterrestrial species which she has already met in a another excerpt from the seriesrevealed last July.

But while the Doctor is talking with the avatar, a T-Rex invites himself to the party and the adventures of the Doctor and Joy take a turn that is dangerous to say the least.

It should be noted that since the series was produced with the company Bad Wolf, the quality of the special effects of Doctor Who has clearly improved and that this dinosaur does not really have to pale in comparison to its cousins ​​of Jurassic Park and company.

Last spring, the adventures of the Fifteenth Doctor were broadcast simultaneously on the British platform BBC iPlayer and Disney+ internationally.

So even if nothing is official yet, we expect this special Christmas episode to follow the same model, and to be available on the Mickey House streaming service on December 25, 2024.
