Galaxy S25: great promises for the gaming part!
With incremental developments generation after generation, smartphones from major brands tend to look the same. In addition to photography and even autonomy, the performance part is also affected by slight improvements over the years. Good news, Samsung would go the second with the Galaxy S25, especially for gamers.
The informant Jukanlosreve indeed shared on Twitter/X this November 16, 2024 that the South Korean firm would be working on a “game mode” for its next smartphones. He begins by mentioning the introduction of frame interpolation, made possible by Qualcomm's Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2.0 (AFME) technology, integrated into the processor for the first time Snapdragon 8 Elite.
This expected chip on the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra would thus make it possible to double the display frequency of games, while having a low impact on the energy consumption of smartphones. The opportunity for players to “enjoy the benefits of a high frame rate without worrying about battery life”underlines Qualcomm on the dedicated page to its new processor.
Jukanlosreve also highlights support for a feature ofupscaling by this new mode for gamers, potentially the Snapdragon Game Super Resolution 2.0 of the 8 Elite. Qualcomm's site highlights its ability to offer high-quality, low-latency (1 m/s) upscaling for mobile games, “with incredible visuals and better performance”.
We would thus be facing great promises for the gaming part Galaxy S25 thanks to this new game mode taking full advantage of the capabilities of the latest high-end chip from the American founder. Improved fluidity and graphics quality would thus be on the program, while limiting the quantity of resources requested, and therefore the heating of smartphones.
Note, the leaker attached to his remarks a screenshot of the game mode of Galaxy smartphones, which specifies the three improvements brought by the latter:
- Get the best quality with less performance thanks to upscaling
- Upscaling allows you to play games limited to 60 Hz at 120 Hz.
- Performance optimizations deliver more power while reducing heat.
