Fiat doubles the ecological bonus on its electric Fiat 500
MG Motor is an unfortunate witness with its MG4electric car sales are closely linked to government aid and rebates. The Chinese-English sedan saw its sales fall when it lost its eligibility for the bonus at the start of the year.
At Fiat, it's different, the small electric 500 is indeed eligible for the ecological bonus of €4,000, but the Italian manufacturer displays it at far too elitist prices when the competition does better.
Fiat doubles the bonus
It's no secret that Fiat is not selling well its 500th, production of which is regularly stopped due to lack of sufficient orders. Over the whole of 2024, almost half of the year, cumulatively, was at a standstill.
At the same time, in an attempt to revive sales, the Stellantis group has changed strategy and is preparing a micro-hybrid thermal versionwhich will not arrive before the end of 2025. It must be said that the price list, starting at €30,400 before bonus, for such a small car, is not very attractive.
In France, Fiat is trying to minimize poor performance by proposing to double the ecological bonus until November 30. Suffice it to say that customers will have to decide very quickly…
Thus, in addition to the €4,000 ecological bonus granted by the government, the car being produced in Italy, at Mirafiori, Fiat offers an additional discount of €4,000. The latter consists of a “€co Fiat” discount of €3,000 and an “electric bonus” of €1,000.
The Fiat 500e from €22,400
With a total of €8,000 discount, the entry-level electric Fiat 500, RED finish, therefore costs €22,400. For this check, you get a small city car measuring 3.63 meters in length, little space in the rear and a 185 liter mini trunk which only delivers 95 hp and allows just 190 km of autonomy depending on the cycle. WLTP.
If you want a little more autonomy, you will have to turn to the variant with a large battery (42 gross kWh) and large engine (118 hp), to hope to travel up to 320 km WLTP. You will then have to pay €25,900 (€33,900 before discount), which makes it €2,000 more expensive than the new and attractive one. Renault 5 E-Techwhich costs €23,990 (after ecological bonus of €4,000) with its 120 hp engine and 40 kWh battery allowing it to travel up to 312 km WLTP.
For those who want a larger vehicle, Fiat France offers the same discount on its 600th.
