Garmin Instinct 3: the next ultra-autonomous sports connected watch soon available
At the end of August 2024, Garmin launched four new connected watches aimed at athletes: the Fenix 8 and 8 Solar, the Fenix E and theEnduro 3. With an entry price of 900 euros, we are a long way from the more accessible models in the Instinct 2 range, starting at 349.99 euros with the standard model without solar charging.
Good news, this range having started its marketing in February 2022 is about to benefit from an update. Indeed, the Garmin Instinct 3 looks great in the kitchen. After supposed images of the model last July, it's the manufacturer's official website that spills the beans.
In detail, Fitness Tracker Test reported this November 17 the addition of the “INSTINCT 3, SOLAR, 45MM, NEGRO” model to the list of repair costs on the Garmin Spain support page.
We thus notice that it is a version with a 45 mm case, a characteristic which does not surprise when we know that the Instinct 2 also benefited from it and were available in 40 mm and 50 mm versions. This is a variation with solar charging, a technology also present on the previous generation.
For the media, the listing would not be complete, emphasizing that a 50 mm Garmin Instinct 3 is “probably missing”. The latter mentions in passing that he would not be surprised to see a version with an AMOLED screen arrive.
According to Fitness Tracker Test, “an Instinct E with fewer features and more basic sensors could also be a possibility.” This reasoning is not surprising when we know that the Fenix 8 was accompanied by a more accessible variant of this type, the Fenix E.
The paper ends with an estimate on the price of the Instinct 3: around 400 euros for the standard 40 mm version and the 45 mm version with solar charging, compared to 450 euros for the solar version with 50 mm case.
Unfortunately, the launch would not be planned for the end of year holidays, but would instead wait until early 2025 (February or March).
