Google is reportedly working on an Android-powered laptop
A few days ago, various corroborating information announced that Google is currently working on a Pixel Tablet 2, which could be powered by a Tensor chip, and be delivered together with an official keyboard. But it's not the only Android device (which wouldn't be a smartphone) planned by Google, if we are to believe the Android leaks and information site, AndroidHeadlines. According to the publicationGoogle is also planning a laptop, which would run only on Android.
A laptop running Android
The project has already received the green light from Google, and has a dedicated team to take care of it. Benefiting from the code name “Snowy”, it should enter into direct competition with high-end models from other companies, such as the Macbook Pro, the Dell XPS or even the Microsoft Surface. Note that AndroidHeadlines is not the only publication discussing this new computer.
According to AndroidAuthoritythe famous computer would be powered by Android, instead of ChromeOS. This would make it one of the first high-end laptops to be fully Android compatible. It remains to be seen whether the operating system is ready to support such daily use. For now, note that the development of such a device is only in its infancy, so we will have to wait a while before Google publicly mentions it, despite these leaks.
