After smartphones OnePlus 12 And OnePlus 12Rthe BBK Electronics group brand has deployed a stable update of OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15, for its new tablet, the OnePlus Pad 2. This update is available in India, and other global markets , including an upcoming arrival in Europe and the United States.
The firmware, identified by the number OPD2403_15.0.0.201(EX01), offers a series of significant improvements that enrich the user experience:
- New animations and icons for smooth scrolling and better ergonomics.
- New practical gestures to more easily manage floating windows and transitions.
- Split mode to separate the notifications drawer (in the left corner) and quick settings (in the right corner), like on iOS.
- Display of alerts, incoming calls, audio recordings, or timer inspired by iOS Dynamic Island.
- Charge limit to 80% to preserve battery life.
By offering Android 15 so quickly, OnePlus is seeking to stand out against the competition. Apart from the Pixel Tablet from Google which received this version in October, the OnePlus Pad 2 is the first tablet to benefit from Android 15, thus surpassing other brands still stuck on Android 14, such as Samsung, whose One UI 7 update is not yet available. not expected before 2025.
For hesitant users, OnePlus offers a rollback option to OxygenOS 14. This ensures a risk-free transition, especially useful if bugs appear after installation. Additionally, the new AI-based features, absent at the moment, should be available by the end of November, according to the official announcement.
