Who is in charge of Squid Game season 2?

You don't change a winning team. Having made Emmy history for being the first Asian to win the trophy for Best Directing for a Drama Series in 2022, director and screenwriter Hwang Dong-hyuk is back at the helm of this new chapter, which he is producing also.

A return which, however, was not assured: the stress that Hwang Dong-hyuk suffered during the creation of the first season caused him health problems, and did not initially lead him to think about a sequel. But the worldwide success of the series made him reconsider the opportunity.

As Hwang Dong-hyuk said in a letter shared to fans : “I'm excited to see the seed that was planted during the creation of Squid Game grow and bear fruit until the end of this story. We will do our best to bring you another thrilling adventure.”
