iPhone SE 4: little time to wait for this lighter version of Apple's iPhone 16

Apple is preparing to hit hard in 2025 with a new smartphone: iPhone SE 4. At the center of rumors for many months, this more accessible model would have many interesting arguments compared to the third generation released in 2022, and great similarities with theiPhone 16. Its release date would not be that far away.

Indeed, informants are starting to agree around the announcement period of the iPhone SE 4. The latest news, Tom O'Malley, analyst at Barclay, confirmed this November 19, 2024 with MacRumors an officialization during the month of March 2025. This statement thus joins that of another specialist informant around the apple firm: Ming-Chi Kuo. Indeed, the TF International Securities analyst recently leaned for the same launch window.

The iPhone SE 4 would thus follow the launch month of the iPhone SE/SE 3 (March), and would be not far from that of the iPhone SE 2 (April). There would therefore only be four months left before the arrival of this model, a fairly short period which may call into question the purchase of a new iPhone, and in particular the iPhone 16.

Indeed, the iPhone SE 4 and the iPhone 16 should have a slew of similarities: 48 Mpx main sensorFace ID, 6.1-inch Oled screen, USB-C port, MagSafe and A18 chip to run Apple Intelligence tools. The design would be closer to the iPhone 14, which has not really evolved with the last two generations.

The iPhone 16 would therefore only have a few subtle advantages left, including the new camera control buttonthe Dynamic Island or the ultra wide-angle sensor at the rear. Add to this the fact that the iPhone SE 4 will cost less than Apple's latest standard model, which could clearly help it do well next spring.
