Tutorial: How to recover data from your Android smartphone with Droidkit?
One of the main strengths of DroidKit is its ability to recover lost or deleted data. This feature is compatible with up to 13 file types, including WhatsApp messages, contacts, photos, videos and conversations. The software offers three recovery modes: quick recovery, deep recovery and WhatsApp recovery. In addition to retrieving data stored on your device or SD card, DroidKit can also connect to your Google account to extract backed-up information, such as call logs, contacts, and calendar events.

But DroidKit has other strings to its bow and also excels in the field of unlocking and repairing Android systems. It allows you to remove PINs, passwords, patterns or fingerprints, even on a locked device. For users facing technical issues like black screen, freezes, or system errors, DroidKit offers powerful tools to get their devices working properly again. In addition to solving complex problems, DroidKit offers maintenance and optimization features. The software can clean junk files, free up storage space and even update Android operating system. These tools help improve the performance and stability of devices on a daily basis.
Today we will focus on the data recovery feature.
As noted above, DroidKit is able to recover up to 13 types of data. It allows you to recover multimedia data (Photos, videos, audio files), personal data (messages and attachments, contacts (Number/Email/Address), call logs, calendar, documents, books, ZIP archives and APK files and social data (WhatsApp attachments, LINE attachments). It supports devices with Android versions 5 to 12.

Note that your Android smartphone or tablet must be rooted, allowing the software to access the root file directories of the operating system to recover lost data.
Once you have downloaded and installed DroidKit on your Windows or MacOS computer, run it and go to the Data Recovery tab to view the different modes available. Select Deep Recovery mode.
If you have not subscribed to the Pro version, a window will display a summary of the different functions accessible in the free version and in the Pro version, allowing you to choose the plan that suits you. The free version of DroidKit allows you to analyze and preview device data, without the possibility of recovering it. You will need to purchase a subscription to activate the file recovery process.
You are then prompted to select the file types to restore by simply checking the corresponding box(es).
Next comes the step of connecting your Android device. Unlike other services, a USB cable is required to connect the computer to the smartphone or tablet.
You will be asked to enable “USB debugging” on your device to validate the connection. Droidkit detects the manufacturer of your smartphone or tablet and shows you instructions to perform this action, or, if your device brand is not well detected, you can choose it yourself.
Droidkit then proceeds to analyze the root status of the connected device, allowing it to access the root files and thus obtain the rights to modify them. Note that with quick recovery mode, your device does not need to be rooted and therefore this step is not included there.
If your device is not rooted, Droidkit will inform you and invite you to either do it for you or activate quick recovery mode to skip this step.
Once the procedure is completed, the software displays the different recoverable items that you can sort according to the type of files requested. A data preview system is also offered, allowing more precise and therefore faster restoration. You then simply select the items to restore (via a check mark on the file type, directory or individually), then indicate the destination to the device or to the PC.
A final window invites you to specify the export formats for the call log, messages, contacts, calendar and recoverable data that does not have its own format. All you have to do is specify the export path and click Save.
