Xbox Cloud now lets gamers take their own games with them anywhere
What timing! Yesterday, Sony announced the launch ofa major new feature for its portable consolePlayStation Portal. Until now, the latter only allowed games launched from the user's PS5 to be played in “remote play”. Since yesterday, it can also allow access to a vast catalog of 120 PS5 games via the cloud, as long as you have a Playstation Plus Premium account. And the next day, Microsoft also announced changes to its cloud gaming offering.
Interesting timing
Until then, the only games accessible from the Xbox Game Cloud were those from the Game Pass catalog. It was impossible to play your own games using cloud gaming, even though the function had been expected for a long time. Today, Xbox Cloud Gaming becomes compatible with games purchased by players. But be careful, there is a condition: the games eligible for such a practice must be part of a list provided by Microsoft. At the moment, the service is in beta, so the list is relatively thin.
In total, 50 games are eligible for streaming via the cloud. Among them, we find in particular Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Balatro, Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Star Wars Outlaws, Hogwarts Legacy, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake… Here is the complete list:
