Squid Game season 2 (Netflix): a bloody trailer reveals the new perverse games

Only a month left before the return of Squid GameAnd Netflix intends to make this known. After a series of promising teasers, the streaming giant unveiled a generous trailer this Wednesday, which sets out the stakes of this second season, and shows a little better the new characters and the deadly games that will be at its center.

“Let the new game begin!”

These new images tell us more about the circumstances that led Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) to return to the Squid Game. We also see the new players in action a little better: a son and his elderly mother, a Machiavellian player, a young couple…

In addition to the ever-present “1,2, 3, Sun”, new games are visible, including one which requires participants to choose between a “cross” team (X) and a “round” team (O), leading to a inevitable confrontation.

This second chapter is of course still mysterious, but it must be admitted that this trailer is particularly promising, especially with its ever-present subtext on current society and class struggle. Outside of the games, Gi-hun's plan to destroy the Squid Game and those who run it seems to have a good place.

Season 2 of Squid Game is once again produced, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, and will see the return to the cast of Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo, as well as many new faces.

Composed of seven episodes, it will be broadcast from December 26, 2024 on Netflix. A third and final season of the series is already planned for 2025.
