Chassis, connections, screen of the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405MA-DRPZ539W
Rechargeable to 60% in 49 minutes, this creative-oriented and robust laptop PC due to its compliance with the American military resistance standard MIL-STD-810H has a sober and elegant look with its compact, thin and light light silver aluminum design.
In terms of connectivity, this AI-oriented laptop is well equipped with its 2 USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, its Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E ax wireless modules for communicating and connecting remotely, its practical HDMI video output for connecting it easily to a TV or monitor for example, its audio port as well as its USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) ensuring transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect a USB 3.0 device to it.
Via the infrared functionality of the webcam and Windows Hello technology, authentication by biometric facial recognition is possible.
Fortunately for respecting privacy, you can close the webcam when you are not using it by sliding a cover in front.
A backlighting system equips the chiclet keyboard. Whenever you need to better distinguish the keys, simply activate it.
Asus has the good idea of offering this Ultrabook NumberPad technology.
Once activated, a tactile numeric keypad appears on the touchpad so that you can easily enter numbers.
This is all the more appreciable since no physical numeric keypad is present on the right of the keyboard, and this is because the space necessary to accommodate this functionality is insufficient, as with any model whose format is less than 15 inches.
The 2.8K screen will delight those who wish to obtain High Definition but also High Fidelity since it ensures colorimetric accuracy significantly above average thanks to its DCI-P3 colorimetry. Its OLED technology also ensures great black depth, significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles as well as minimal latency. The latter provides better fluidity than a standard 60Hz panel, especially since the frequency here is 120Hz.
The screen has touch technology: by applying at least one finger on it, using pressure/gestures, you can interact with the system and software. Due to the OLED and touch aspects, the screen has a glossy treatment which gives punch to the colors but is subject to reflections in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
Performance, battery life of the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405MA-DRPZ539W
The Asus ZenBook 14 OLED UX3405MA-DRPZ539W is aimed at those looking for a high-definition, high-fidelity compact portable high-performance multimedia and AI-oriented laptop.
Its autonomy which is around 13 hours on battery in light use will delight nomads like some wishing to equip themselves with a Student laptop.
Because this Ultrabook is easy to transport since it is compact, thin and light.
However, it delivers solid general performance that will satisfy a maximum of users, particularly creators.
Because this laptop deploys its potential in areas requiring CPU and RAM resources using multi-core (and AI), such as photo editing or video editing.
It is in fact powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor. Meteor Lake with 16 hybrid cores, AI capabilities and Intel Arc integrated graphics solution. It is supported by 16 GB of memory.
No dedicated onboard graphics card here however. The players will therefore move on.
However, you can play light to modest games if you are prepared to make concessions such as a reduction in screen definition. Because playing in 2.8K requires more graphics calculations than playing in Full HD, which results in a lower number of fps.
All of the graphics are in fact entrusted to the care of Intel Arc, whose performance is superior to that of the classic Iris Xe.
Watching HD photos and videos is therefore of course possible.
On the storage side, Asus logically opts for an SSD with a high capacity of 1000 GB capable of housing quantities of applications and files, including, why not, personal creations.
Thanks to the SSD, starts/stops, processing and starts/stops are fast, as is the arrival on online game cards.
The SSD generally improves responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis.
Because the SSD is fast, in addition to being silent, energy efficient and shock resistant.
In the event of heavy loads (e.g. processing), expect this AI and multimedia-oriented Ultrabook to heat up and make itself heard.
It can be coupled with a ventilated support to limit its temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
