Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP Pavilion Plus 14-ew1001nf
With its compact, thin and light Moonlight blue aluminum design, this laptop has an original and elegant look.
This versatile multimedia Ultrabook integrates good connectivity with its 2 USB-C including 1 Thunderbolt 4, its Wi-Fi 6E ax and Bluetooth 5.3 modules for remote connections and communications, its practical HDMI video output for easily connecting it to a TV or a monitor for example, its audio port or even its 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connects USB 3.0 devices to it.
As the webcam adopts Infrared technology, it can be authenticated biometrically by facial recognition using Windows Hello technology.
Good point: you can close the webcam when you are not using it in order to preserve privacy.
The chiclet keyboard can obviously be backlit so that its keys can be better distinguished in limited ambient light.
The screen will appeal to creatives because it adopts OLED DCI-P3 characteristics offering much more faithful colorimetry than average with very deep blacks and significant viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically. Furthermore, OLED involves minimal latency which, coupled with the frequency of 120Hz higher than the 60Hz standard, reinforces overall fluidity, including in games.
The screen also stands out for its 2.8K definition superior to Full HD but also for its 16/10th format which displays more information on height than the classic 16/9th.
The screen also has a glossy treatment due to its OLED technology, which implies vivid colors but sensitivity to reflections in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors).
Performance, autonomy of the HP Pavilion Plus 14-ew1001nf
The HP Pavilion Plus 14-ew1001nf is a compact multimedia versatile High Definition High Fidelity laptop computer intended for versatile multimedia use on the go.
It delivers solid general performance since it is based on 16 GB of RAM as well as a latest generation processor. Meteor Lake Intel Core Ultra 5 125H with 16 hybrid cores, AI services and integrated Intel Arc graphics solution.
This core will be of particular interest to creators since it notably guarantees faster processing than a classic Quad Core and 8 GB DDR4/5. The difference is particularly noticeable in areas that are intensive in CPU and RAM resources taking advantage of multi-cores and AI services, such as photo editing or video editing.
Thanks to the Intel Arc graphics module, which is more efficient than the classic Iris Xe, you can of course watch HD photos and videos. But also play light to modest games so that we agree to adjustments. Because the 2.8K definition of the screen requires more graphics calculations than Full HD, which results in a lower number of fps.
Lowering the definition therefore allows you to play.
HP obviously entrusts its storage to an SSD since it is more robust than a hard drive but also consumes less energy, is silent and above all much faster, which ensures much better fluidity and responsiveness.
Thanks to the SSD, starts/stops, processing and launches of applications are carried out faster than with a hard drive, and you can access online game cards more quickly.
Here we find a 512 GB SSD, a capacity similar to the standard for hard drives and what many models on the market offer.
However, if additional space is needed, an external storage module can be used. In this case, favoring a USB 3.0/USB-C/Thunderbolt device represents an interesting option for obtaining fast transfers.
As for autonomy while waiting for more concrete tests, count on around 7 hours on battery in light use for this versatile Ultrabook that is easy to transport thanks to its lightness, compactness and finesse. Something to interest some in search of a Student laptop.
However, expect heat and noise in the event of heavy use (e.g. processing) of this computer which can be coupled if necessary to a ventilated support to limit its temperatures (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
