The time has once again come to take the conditional with a pinch of salt. Do not hesitate to take your smallest tweezers for this reading, because it is a question of a very very small drone. To believe, as is often the case, the leaker Jasper Ellens on X, DJI could soon unveil a new pocket drone, the DJI Flip. In any case, a visual and a video reinforce his assertions.
A successor to the DJI Mini 4?
While the DJI Neo is only a few months old, the Chinese manufacturer seems to want to offer with the Flip a new solution that is both miniature and foldable. Enough to wait (or take over?) until the fifth iteration of the Mini range. It could also be a serious competitor to the HoverAir X1.
According to the video, the DJI Flip's propellers can fold under its body, making it easy to transport. If it is certainly compact, the exact size of this model is still unknown, but we imagine it, why not, stored in a pocket. Still on the side of conjectures resulting from various corridor noises and other recordings from the FCC side, this drone would benefit from a 3,110 mAh battery (better than the 2,590 mAh of the DJI Mini 4 Pro), the system of OcuSync 4 obstacle avoidance and possibly Lidar. On the camera side, the mystery remains. Navigation would take place via RC-N2 commands.
More and more miniature drones
All this obviously remains to be confirmed, while the positioning of this DJI Flip in the manufacturer's catalog raises questions. With the Mini and Neo models, the spectrum of miniature drones is already pretty well covered. So what will this Flip bring, and who will it be aimed at? Answer probably soon!
