Nintendo has not finished being under the yoke of rumors. The Japanese manufacturer is in fact facing an armada of information on its next hybrid console, and has recently confirmed backwards compatibility Switch games with its successor. Now, it's the turn of a very useful element for players in portable mode which has just surfaced: the screen.

Accessories for the Switch 2 have indeed been discovered on the Alibaba online commerce platform. There is also a screen protector, which the seller has highlighted alongside another used for the first generation. The comparison thus shows a much larger panel, which would echo previous rumors about this future console.

An 8-inch screen should actually be used instead of the 6.2-inch screen of the original model and the 7-inch screen of the Oled version. Enough to offer an even more pleasant display surface for portable gaming anywhere, and which would also be more extensive than on the Steam Deck Oled (7.2 inches) and less massive than on the Lenovo Legion Go (8.8 inches).

Note, a protective and transport cover measuring 290 mm in length, 135 mm in width and 50 mm in thickness was also discovered. Knowing that the Switch OLED has a length of 242 mm, it's a safe bet that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be larger.

As a reminder, the announcement of the second generation of Switch is planned for the current fiscal year, ending on March 31, 2025. Marketing could begin just before the new financial year, just to finish the 2024-2025 year in style, and then follow up with a strong first quarter for the 2025-2026 period.

In the meantime, we have concocted for the most curious a summary article around all the new features proof on the Nintendo Switch 2!
