A high-performance mini-PC without a fan attached under the desk, a good idea from Arctic Cooling
Arctic Cooling may not mean anything to you, but the German brand specializing in cooling solutions has been offering its products for almost 20 years. Its latest coup is called Senza Under Desk PC.
A fanless PC hidden under the desk
As its name suggests, the Senza Under Desk PC is a mini-PC – at least the compartment containing the components – which attaches under the top of your desk. Two huge radiators located on each side of said compartment are responsible for dissipating the calories produced by the processor.
To make everything more accessible, Arctic Cooling had the good idea of creating a control panel that attaches to the edge of the desk, thus allowing the connections and the start button to be moved away.
Inside, the manufacturer uses a desktop processor, the AMD Ryzen 5 5500G with six multithreaded cores that can reach 4.4 GHz. If the processor is a little old (Zen3 core from 2020) and the graphics part being a Radeon Vega, this allows Arctic Cooling to control the price. Count on €599 with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD.
Slightly more robust configurations are also offered with a Ryzen 7 5700G and 32 GB of RAM at €699, and a Pro version with a Ryzen 7 5700G Pro at €729.
Scalable configuration
The Senza, despite its rather original design, is fully upgradeable since the RAM, the SSD, the wifi card and the processor can be dismantled. However, you will have to make do with AMD's AM4 socket, therefore DDR4. Impossible, for example, to install a Ryzen 7 8700G to take advantage of its Radeon 780M graphics part.
