ChatGPT Pro: OpenAI launches new subscription for more than $200 per month

A few days ago, OpenAI announced that it would launch a whole bunch of daily announcements for 12 days, starting December 5. A sort of artificial intelligence advent calendar, which started yesterday, Thursday December 5. The first announcement has already caused a lot of ink to flow: it is a pro subscription at a particularly high price for ChatGPT. Named ChatGPT Pro, this new offer will be available for $200… per month! In particular, it will give direct access to a boosted version of its o1 model.

An ultra premium offer: the first on the market

With this offer, OpenAI opens the floodgates to an ultra-premium offering for artificial intelligence, intended mainly for professionals. The o1 model, characterized in particular by a much longer reflection time after a request, is also one of the most reliable on the market. Thus, it is capable of solving 83% of the problems in the qualifications for the International Mathematics Olympiads, while GPT-4o is limited to 13%. This slower approach to artificial intelligence makes it possible to obtain much better results in professional fields such as programming or the study of case law. On the other hand, this model also integrates image analysis: it can decipher handwriting or even explain certain complex mechanisms simply through a photo.

ChatGPT is now available in three different offers. First, the free offer is still valid: the latter gives access to ChatGPT-4o mini, standard voice mode and limited access to GPT-4o. The ChatGPT Plus subscription (20 dollars per month) gives access to all the functions of the free offer, but extends its limits: it is possible to use limited versions of o1 and o1-mini, to benefit from the standard and advanced voice mode, but also to create and use personalized GPTs. Finally, there remains the ChatGPT-Pro subscription at 200 dollars per month, which gives access to all the functions of ChatGPT Plus, as well as unlimited access to GPT-4 and o1, unlimited access to advanced voice mode and access to o1-pro for optimal answers to the most complex questions.
