Easier to monitor cooking in the new Philips 3000 series Airfryer

The lines are moving towards Philips Airfryers with the latest 3000 series models. It is also to this same series that the brand's first double basket model belongs, the NA352 to be precise. The NA322, NA332 and NA342 are satisfied with a single basket, respectively 4.2, 6.2 and 7.2l, but adopt a new design in order to offer a better view of the food during cooking. Many models, moreover, simply do not allow them to be seen.

Cooking under supervision

At Philips, we already find, still in the 3000 series, the Airfryer HD9257 equipped with a window on the front, just above the basket. The new models have a similar structure, while becoming more refined at the top. The front and especially the window thus overlook the basket and its contents, offering a much more complete vision than a window integrated directly into the drawer as is, for example, the case on… from Xiaomi.

To clear the view of the food, Philips also had to move the control panel usually on the front of its Airfryers and integrate it on top; not always practical depending on the size of the user.

The new 3000 series Airfryers are otherwise quite classic, even if Philips promises ever more functions: 16, no less! Impossible to find the complete list on the cards, however, and the mention of simmered dishes is far from reassuring us. Make no mistake, these are simple airfryers equipped with a single resistance combined with a fan in their upper part while a relief in the bottom of the basket returns the hot air to the sides. Some models incorporate a second resistance under the basket, particularly for simmered dishes if we take the Delonghi Multifry, but this does not seem to be the case with these Philips models.

A keep-warm function that is still rare on airfryers

Who says airfryer, however, says rotating heat, like in an oven. It is therefore still possible to cook much more than just fries. Here we find a temperature range of 40 to 200°C and 10 presets for different foods and types of preparation: frozen fries, fresh fries, chicken drumsticks, meat, fish, breakfast, vegetables, muffins, vegan, dried fruit . Philips has also provided a customizable program and a keep warm function. Few airfryers offer this last function. Here it must maintain the temperature at 80°C at the end of cooking, but we still need to see if it does not alter the little crispiness that “frying without oil” can give.

The new Airfryer 3000 series are in any case available for sale. The smallest is offered at the recommended retail price of €149, the NA332 6.2l at €169 and the NA342 at €189.
